How many hours do I need to attend in class each week?

All face-to-face courses offered at Qantm College are delivered as a full time study load. Your contact hours each trimester will vary between 16-20 contact hours per week. This amount will vary dependant on your trimester work load. Your contact hours relate to the time you need to attend classes; however all students are expected to contribute additional time outside of class contact hours.

How big are the classes?

Class sizes at Qantm College consist of approximately 15-30 students.

What hardware & software does Qantm College use?

Qantm College uses the latest in industry standard computer equipment and software to provide students with the tools they need to achieve successful outcomes.

Do I need to be an artist or good at drawing to do an Animation Program?

At Qantm College we teach the fundamentals of drawing because basic drawing skills are the backbone of good animation, whether it is 2D or 3D. Existing drawing skills are always welcome and encouraged, however a desire to learn and passion for animation are more important when you are starting out. The drawing and basic art skills learned at Qantm College will also enable you to do other jobs such as; modeller, texture artist, lighting designer, colour stylist, concept artist, story board artist etc. In short, drawing and general art skills developed at Qantm College give you more options for employment at the end of your course.

Is it hard to be a Computer Games programmer?

The knowledge of a computer programming language or a medium level of competency in mathematics is strongly recommended.

If Qantm College is not a university, how can they offer Bachelor Degrees?

As with all Universities throughout Australia, Qantm College has undergone accreditation to offer Bachelor Degrees. However as Qantm College is a private education provider, this accreditation has been approved by the relevant states accrediting bodies. In Queensland the Office of Higher Education is the accrediting body who has accredited the Qantm Bachelor Degrees. In Victoria and New South Wales, the Bachelor Degrees have been accredited through Mutual Recognition by the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority and the New South Wales Higher Education Directorate. The Bachelor Degrees offered by Qantm College are recognised throughout the world as a pathway into postgraduate studies.

Why is your degree only 2 years long when in other places it takes 3 years?

Qantm College recognizes the dynamic nature of the creative industries in which you plan to study and gain employment. In order to give our students the best start possible, we present a full three year degree over just two years by having 3 study periods each year called 'Trimesters'. This gives you the opportunity to finish your degree faster.

I'm an international student; can Qantm College arrange my overseas health care cover?

The first year of your health cover is organised by Qantm College. You will be covered from the first day you arrive in Australia, however you will need to present yourself to the College as soon as possible after your arrival to show Qantm staff your entry stamp. You will receive your membership card soon after you arrive. After the first year, you are responsible for paying and maintaining your health cover whilst you study in Australia.  This is a requirement of your student Visa.

It is also recommended that students obtain accident and travel insurance prior to leaving their home country.
